The Bentworth Village Fete is back this year on Saturday 6th July from 14:00 – 17:00

We’re delighted to announce that this year’s event will be opened by former sub-postmaster turned campaigner Jo Hamilton – whose story of determination and fortitude was brought to life by Monica Dolan in ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Our fete’s focus this year is on community and Jo embodies this principle, so it’s brilliant that she has agreed to be our special guest.

As usual, the fete will be held at St. Mary’s School, Bentworth, and will have something for everyone – including art displays, a dog show and dog races, gardening and craft stands, family games, traditional stalls, raffle, tombola, food, beer and a Pimms tent. Proceeds will go to local causes that benefit the community, including the school.

Thanks to all who’ve volunteered so far, and those who’ve come along to our very well-attended monthly fete planning meetings at The Sun Inn.

We still have a few stalls left that need overseeing on the day, (including Water Bombs, Crockery Smashing and Coconut Shy), so please let Charlie Phillips know on: cp1@btinternet.com, or contact us via the Bentworth WhatsApp or Facebook group, if you’d like to step up to the volunteering oche and help run one. If you can only spare an hour or two you can sign up on a rota basis – it’s a great way to get to know more Bentworthians if you’re new to the area.

Whatever the weather (!) Saturday 6th July is set to be a fun day celebrating beautiful Bentworth, so put the date in your diary!
