Planning is well under way for this year’s fete and things are going well! However there are still a few stalls which need to be manned and we are looking for volunteers to run these stalls. If you are able to help please can you call me on 561227 or speak to a committee member. We also need help to set up during the evening of Friday 6th July. If you are able to spare some time we will be on the school field from 6pm and it would be great to see you.
Book stall
Donations of books will be gratefully received before the fete and can be dropped off at Gardener’s Cottage, Drury Lane. Otherwise please feel free to deliver to the book stall on the day.
Competitions
We are seeking entries for the cake competition and the theme is “Made by one, decorated by another”. This is ideal for husband and wife, siblings or friends etc and is open to both adults and children. Any cake of any size will be accepted.
We are also having a “Best dressed Teddy Bear” competition. This is open to both adults and children. Teddies should be delivered or escorted to the competition tent, they will be well looked after.
There will also be a prize for the “Best decorated biscuit”. Biscuits and decorating bits and bobs will be provided on the day.
All entries need to be in the tent by 3pm when judging will take place. Entries will cost £1 per class.
Dog Show
We will be once again holding a dog show this year so please do bring along your dog (and poo bags) and enter as many classes as possible. The more madness the better!
Dog races will also be taking place, please note a good recall is important!
If you have any local charities or good causes you would like to be considered for receiving a donation from the fete do please let me know.
We look forward to seeing you there and hopefully the sun will be shining!
