A big thank you to Maxine Wood who once again organised the most wonderful trip to Arundel Castle and it’s amazing gardens. No easy task but Maxine made it look effortless.
We left Bentworth at 9 o’clock and after an enjoyable hour chatting to our neighbours on the bus we arrived at our destination. We all walked up the gentle hill to the gardens behind the castle and spent a very happy morning meandering round the spectacular gardens. There was so much to see, from the stumpery, to the kitchen garden, and everything in between. When we all met up for lunch in the Castle later on, we had a lot to talk about.
After lunch a few intrepid members went up to the Keep which was truly outstanding, well worth the climb. Perfect day all round.
The next Garden Club visit will be on 21st August at Stella’s, Bentworth Hall. The speaker will be Marcus Dancer and he will be talking about New and Exciting Plants.
