I thought I might give you a bit of an update of our thinking on how to move forwards with the Bentworth Garden Club this year.
We have had the Bentworth Garden Club Membership and programme printed for this year. As from Thursday 19th March, I will be putting some programmes in my outside letter box (by the front door) for anyone to pick up. Maxine will also have some to give out. We do not want any payment for this at the moment. However, we will be asking you all for some money when we next see you. (The membership is still £7.00). We are dong this so that you can get your 10% discount from Garthowen Garden Centre, and if rumours are to be believed, I think we might be spending quite a lot of time in our gardens this spring! So the discount might come in handy.
Secondly, depending on the advice we get from the Government, we are proposing to keep the garden visits going for anyone who would like to come. The reason behind this is, it will be out in the open air and as long as there is no hugging, touching of each other, we see no reason why we cannot keep this going. We will obviously update you nearer the time.
Thirdly, we are at the moment planning on having a Plant Sale of some kind. We are not entirely sure what format this will take, but please do keep potting up!
I will let you know about the April Speaker, but at present, I feel that this too is unlikely to go ahead.
It just remains for me to say, please look after yourselves, keep healthy and above all try and keep smiling.
The Bentworth Garden Club committee miss you all.
