For anyone who hasn’t already indicated their interest (and then been contacted personally/had confirmation of being booked on a course):
We now have the following dates/times for short first aid courses to be held at the Jubilee Hall. The plan is to run at least 2 of the following 3 sessions depending on how well they fill up. We need between 8 and 12 people per courses. We aim to run at least another couple of courses in the autumn. The current bookings are:-
Tuesday 14th Aug eve 7-10ish, FULL
Wednesday 15th morning 9 – 12 ish
or
Thursday 16 afternoon 2-5ish
Tutor Gareth Stalley, Paramedic
Just to confirm the idea of the session is to teach the basic rules for preserving life through use of recovery position, resuscitation techniques for babies/children and adults and how to use the Defib machine which is attached to the Jubilee Hall whilst waiting for the emergency services. It is NOT a full blown first aid course covering bleeding, fractures, burns etc. Candidates need to be aware that this is a hands-on course and dress appropriately as they will be spending time kneeling on the floor.
Any fees for these courses will be covered by the Parish Council.
Please contact the Parish Clerk on clerk@bentworthparishcouncil.org if you wish to attend and she hasn’t already been in touch with you.
