Now is the time to get out and prune some of the plants in your garden. It helps in windy gardens to cut roses and buddleias part way down to stop the wind rocking them. Otherwise it is time to prune those plants that are too impatient to wait till spring before their sap rises. These are the birches, acers, vines and mulberries. I cannot believe that we have visited our last gardens for the year. We have been so incredibly spoilt in what we have been able to see. In July by kind permission of the Macpherson’s we visited Armsworth Manor, near Old Alresford. A truly special garden, the weather was kind to us and we all had a lovely time wandering around her garden.
