Mary Holmes

Mary Holmes

On 3 July at an informal ceremony at “High View” Mary Holmes was presented with a cheque for £2000 in appreciation of the service she has rendered to Bentworth over the past 18 years, this being the result of a communal appeal from a large number of donors, mostly within Bentworth, but including several from outside our Village. This is a tremendous response to the appeal put out by the Parish Council and thanks are due to all those who donated so generously. Well done Bentworth!

Also presented was an Oil painting of the “Sun Inn” donated by Nicky Branch which will, we hope, serve as another memento for Mary to reflect upon during her retirement in Petersfield.

We will all miss you Mary but thank you for all you have done over the years and we are united in wishing you a long, healthy and happy retirement in your new home. You will be especially welcome here in Bentworth at any time.

A case of “Au revoir ” rather than good -bye.
