Church Tidy Up – Thank You

Church Tidy Up – Thank You

The PCC would like to thank everyone who helped with the annual Autumn Tidy up this year. Owing to the weather it took place on two different days in November, with those who couldn’t manage either date doing their bit when it suited them. Drains and gutters were cleared, headstones freed from ivy and the last of the leaves swept up. One of the main targets was the bit in the middle by the lime trees which had become rather overgrown. Hopefully now that some of the older graves have been cleared and exposed and the grass around them cut it will be easier to keep under control in the future.

Thank you to Charlie Phillips for organising things and to Jane and Tony for providing warming drinks and delicious buns on both occasions.

We would also like to thank the regular team of mowers and strimmers who keep the Churchyard looking nice throughout the year. It makes such a difference to those visiting graves and to people just walking through to see it all looking cared for.
