One of the joys of the year’s turning away from winter this season has been a period of delightful weather, unusually coinciding with school holidays, which will have been a blessing for many. For farmers and growers, this weather will also be proving beneficial, as crops are being planted or are already thriving in the warming soil. Signs of new life, always occurring around the festival of Easter, are everywhere. Also at this time of year, thoughts within the Church’s year move in the direction of Rogationtide, when Christians everywhere appreciate the efforts of all who work in agriculture, and pray for God’s blessing on them. We in these parishes mark this time with a Rogation Walk around one or more parishes or, as this year, walk around all the four parishes of this benefice with the same intent. ...
